Beautiful Indonesia with the Missionaries

Once a month the missionaries are allowed to take most of a P-day for a cultural-enriching sightseeing outing. We're encouraged to see historical or nature sites. Below are pictures from several of our outings.

Masjid Nasional Al-akbar is the 2nd largest mosque in Indonesia, we are told.
The photo was taken from the 68-meter tower. Sidoarjo is in the far background.

Outside a smaller mosque we were tempted to mix up all the shoes. Hee hee...

Trowulan was the capital of the largest Hindu empire in Indonesian history. It was founded in 1294, but fell in 1478.
The several monuments and sculpture were rediscovered in 1815 and later restored.

And we thought we invented Halloween!  Wouldn't this
be the greatest for a Trick or Treat candy holder?

Steve has promised to start trimming the bushes
at our home better when we get back :)

We visited here before we looked for a few more lost members, 2 1/2 hours from Surabaya.
